Timmy is on the Phillies.
Jacob is on the Cardinals.
This year the boys are both on very good, very hard working teams. It’s nice to see their hard work and tons of practice pay off in good records. Since it’s become apparent that the boys are serious about their baseball, we made the investment in some better-than-beginner equipment for the two of them.
I took our good camera out to the fields earlier this month, but didn’t get the best pictures because I had to deal with the chain link fence. I was able to use the manual focus on most of them, and all things considered, I’m pretty impressed. Enjoy!
Timmy is playing catcher. He really doesn’t mind all the gear…nor does he mind having to wear a “cup”.
Timmy in action!
Taking his position. We got him some cushions for the backs of his calves, to help him squat easier.
In this particular game, Jacob is playing 3rd base. If the team is “small”, he’s in the infield. But he’s an amazing outfielder, and he is put in center field if the opposing team has older, harder hitting players.
The kids got to choose nicknames, Jacob picked “Lightning”…which is apropos because he’s becoming known for stealing home. Like another famous ball player 🙂
Jacob at bat, but that dratted chain link fence gave me the worst time!
Here’s a time lapse of Timmy’s running around the bases. He doesn’t run fast but he helps his team score! Click through each picture two times to see if full-sized.
