On the second day of our trip to Estes Park, we took a hike around Bear Lake. We weren’t sure what we would encounter, since there was quite a bit of snow. It turned out the trail was very snowy, but was packed down enough that we could walk on it okay. We just had to be very very careful!

These signs all over the entrance were rather daunting....

And...this was Timmy's attitude all through the hike. He did NOT want to be there and was reluctant to be part of the pictures. Jacob was really enjoying the hike though.

Our views -- the sheet of white at the bottom is Bear Lake itself, covered in snow that was untouched except for a few animal tracks. Gorgeous!

Jacob and his friend found were loving the snow and they found this huge chunk of snow that they were trying to roll down the trail.

I love how the trees look "frosted"...like on gingerbread houses :-)

Timmy stepped a little too far off the trail and got his leg stuck. I had to lift him out. His unhappy hike got more unhappy.
