As promised in the previous post, I calculated the miles flown, driven, railed, and walked during our trip*.

*I did not count the shorter Paris Metro, U-Bahn, and local bus rides.

Total Miles = 10222

Air miles = 8295

Automobile miles = 516

Rail miles = 1160

Bus miles = 130

Walking Miles = 111

I was able to pull this data from my United Mileage Plus statement.

Automobile Miles

This was simple: I simply took the Alamo Rental receipt and substracted the kilometers out (61679) from the kilometers in (62509). Then converted that to miles = 516

Rail Miles

Paris Airport to Downtown Paris = 14
Paris to Berlin = 545
Berlin to Lutherstadt-Wittenberg = 55
Lutherstadt-Wittenberg to Berlin = 55
Berlin to Munich = 383
Munich to Murnau = 36
Garmisch to Zugspitze = 12
Zugspitze to Garmisch = 12
Murnau to Munich = 36
Munich Marienplatz to Munich Flughafen = 22

Bus Miles

Murnau to Garmisch = 19
Garmisch to Neuschwanstein Castle = 42
Neuschwanstein Castle to Garmisch = 42
Garmisch to Oberammergau = 13
Oberammeraau to Murnau = 14

Walking Miles

I pulled these from my Apple Watch. Each of us had varying experiences so this could be a 10-15% variation per person.
