Greece 2025 Day 1: A Fun Filled First Day

We had a fun first full day in Greece today!

We picked up the kids on campus, then visited the nearby IKEA for a late breakfast and picked up groceries at Lidl.
Then we headed out to a lovely beach down the coast from Thessaloniki, near a town called Lea Irakleia. We enjoyed driving through the olive groves, vineyards, and pomegranate orchards to get there.

We finished with an early dinner at a restaurant in the town of Thermi called “??? ?????” or “GRN Thermi”: gyros and souvlaki.

The kids had to be back on campus for official photos by 7:45pm, which was fine…Dave and I are beat!

Lidl-brand Aperol?
The town of Lea Irakleia is behind me, over my shoulder on the left side of the photo.

Jet lag…
The sign says this is an “Educational Vineyard”, part of the kids’ school.
Little grapes growing on the vines.
If you look closely, you can see the little orange pomegranates.
Gyros!
