Bora Bora 2025 Day 7: Farewell

Don’t let the smiles fool you — we did NOT want to board that plane!

This evening we bid “nana” to Bora Bora. Don’t let my smile in the selfie fool you. We did NOT want to leave. There might have been tears in my eyes while on the boat back to the airport.

The hotel has a rather generous check out setup. Based on when our flight was this afternoon, we didn’t have to check out until 1:30pm. This meant we could enjoy our last moments at the beach and pool, where we bid farewell to the folks who so kindly helped make our stay amazing. Like those pool guys.

We took a redeye back to the states. It was an incredible vacation, probably the first one I ever took where I truly relaxed. I hope to return one day, although there’s so much more of the world we want to see.

We had to bid farewell to Regis.

These were the attendants at the central pool. We got to know them during our week there, and they told us many stories of life on the island. The young man on the left is a French college student, who was on an extended winter break (remember, we were in the southern hemisphere).
We had a last lunch before heading out.
My lunch was a poke bowl.
On the boat back to the airport…

That’s the St. Regis at the bottom of the view, and the Westin in the upper half.
