I had planned to take some pictures but forgot.  Oh well.  At least I have this blog post from September 2008 to remind me of how pretty they are.  Enjoy this &#8220;Rewind&#8221;:<\/i><\/p>\n<table align=\"center\" cellpadding=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" class=\"tr-caption-container\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/lh5.ggpht.com\/weathersix\/SMCV-ZV7qXI\/AAAAAAAABjg\/G1c8dUhO-rc\/s800\/IMG_3645.JPG\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\"><img alt=\"\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/lh5.ggpht.com\/weathersix\/SMCV-ZV7qXI\/AAAAAAAABjg\/G1c8dUhO-rc\/s800\/IMG_3645.JPG\" style=\"display: block; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center; width: 400px;\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td class=\"tr-caption\" style=\"text-align: center;\">This type of sunflower is a&nbsp;<i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wildflower.org\/plants\/result.php?id_plant=HEAN3\">Helianthus annuus<\/a><\/i>. &nbsp;The wild ones have smaller flowers (~5&#8243;) than the ones you plant for seeds, <a href=\"http:\/\/pixdaus.com\/pics\/1272052372NGbCjDB.jpg\">such as those in western Kansas<\/a> and Nebraska.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>Wild sunflowers are in bloom in E. Nebraska and W. Iowa.
