Folks who knew me from my youth might remember that my absolute favorite ride at Busch Gardens Williamsburg growing up was the giant spinning swing in the Germany section<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Did you know about 1\/2 of the Oktoberfest grounds is a carnival that would rival most state fairs? I mean, imagine our state fairs with German engineering! Imagine my excitement seeing that Oktoberfest has a 90 meter tall swingset!! (Actually there are two of them — there are multiples of many of the most popular rides). The one we rode was called the “Kettenflieger Bayern Tower<\/a>.” (Kettenflieger translates to “chair-o-planes”.)<\/p>\n

Dave wouldn’t ride with me, but a young lady in our group — Sara from Lansdale, PA — was willing to. Talk about a thrill for this now-51-year-old! It was a sight to see flying over the entire lit-up Oktoberfest grounds but there was NO WAY I was going to pull out my phone and film it — maybe the video the girl in front of us was taking is out there somewhere…<\/p>\n

Dave filmed our ride from down on the ground and that’s what you see in this post. Look REALLY CLOSELY around the 8 second point — you see Sara and me coming around from the left waving at Dave.<\/p>\n
