26 July 22: After our guided tour and food court lunch we hit the U-Bahn and hit three more tourist attractions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

1.) The DDR Museum<\/a>, featuring East Germany life. We got there just before a thunderstorm dumped rain on the area. They have some amazing artifacts and stories in there, but I wish the space was bigger. It was terribly crowded. Allow at least 90 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.) The Brandenberg Gate<\/a>. This was a very brief stop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.) Checkpoint Charlie<\/a>. The only crossing Allied forces were allowed to use. There is a lot to see here, including multiple attractions that require admission fees. We were all pretty worn out by this point so we checked out the open air attractions and headed back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tim, it turns out, is VERY good at navigating public transportation. I think he’s destined to live in a city this size one day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The museum had a mockup of a complete traditional East Berlin apartment. It was basically the same layout as our Rochstra\u00dfe AirBnB rental! I got such a kick out of that!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
