I&#8217;m not changing the text of the posts, just the titles and tagging.<\/em><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1038\" style=\"width: 557px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/thevollmerfamily.com\/MajorMom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_3408.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1038\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-1038 \" title=\"IMG_3408\" src=\"http:\/\/thevollmerfamily.com\/MajorMom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_3408.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"547\" height=\"547\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thevollmerfamily.com\/MajorMom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_3408.jpg 911w, https:\/\/thevollmerfamily.com\/MajorMom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_3408-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/thevollmerfamily.com\/MajorMom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_3408-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 547px) 100vw, 547px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Keystone Trail parallels Papio Creek in Bellevue.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>On Friday I took a short run on one of eastern Nebraska&#8217;s awesome running trails: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.railstotrails.org\/news\/recurringfeatures\/trailmonth\/archives\/0703.html\">The Keystone Trail<\/a>. \u00a0I used to run on this trail a LOT when we were living in Nebraska, and <a href=\"http:\/\/thevollmerfamily.com\/MajorMom\/2008\/08\/the-offutt-afb-airshow.html\">I&#8217;ve written previously about the great views it gave us of the Offutt Air Show in 2008<\/a>. \u00a0This is how I did my 10K and 1\/2 marathon training when I lived in the area.<\/p>\n<p>From where I&#8217;m staying in Bellevue for my reserve work right now, it was about a 1\/2 mile run to a trailhead off Capehart Rd. \u00a0It was so easy. \u00a0So I set my Nike+ for a 5K run and ran out 1.5 miles or so on the trail. \u00a0On the return trip, once my Nike+ told me I had run 5K, I stopped to enjoy the views. \u00a0I could take some pictures too.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1039\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/thevollmerfamily.com\/MajorMom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_3409.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1039\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1039\" title=\"IMG_3409\" src=\"http:\/\/thevollmerfamily.com\/MajorMom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_3409-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thevollmerfamily.com\/MajorMom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_3409-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thevollmerfamily.com\/MajorMom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_3409-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/thevollmerfamily.com\/MajorMom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_3409-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/thevollmerfamily.com\/MajorMom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_3409.jpg 1379w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1039\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The markers are approximately every tenth of a mile. They are a bit misleading on this marker: the &quot;K&quot; is for &quot;Keystone&quot; and not &quot;kilometer&quot;. The numbers posted are miles.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more-->I used to have a wonderful time trying to photograph all the birds I would see on the trail. If I were at home I could probably dig up the pictures I had of red-winged blackbirds, red-tailed hawks, and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/American_Cliff_Swallow\">American cliff swallows<\/a> that would set up enormous nesting colonies under the overpasses along the trail.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy pictures I took of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Leucanthemum_vulgare\">oxeye daisies<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Carduus_acanthoides\">thistles<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Anthriscus_sylvestris\">cow&#8217;s parsley-type Queen Anne&#8217;s lace<\/a> (not quite the same as the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Daucus_carota\">Queen Anne&#8217;s lace<\/a> from the northeast that I remember from my childhood, with <a href=\"http:\/\/images.wikia.com\/ppc\/images\/7\/70\/TheQueen.jpg\">the tiny red specks in the centers of the flower clusters<\/a> reminiscent of Queen Anne pricking her finger with a needle while sewing lace.) \u00a0All of these flower pictures have been post-processed with Instagram filters, and pardon some of the blurriness&#8230;it was very windy and difficult to keep the flowers still.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1040\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/thevollmerfamily.com\/MajorMom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_3410.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1040\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-1040\" title=\"IMG_3410\" src=\"http:\/\/thevollmerfamily.com\/MajorMom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_3410-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"630\" height=\"630\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thevollmerfamily.com\/MajorMom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_3410-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/thevollmerfamily.com\/MajorMom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_3410-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/thevollmerfamily.com\/MajorMom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_3410-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thevollmerfamily.com\/MajorMom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_3410.jpg 1213w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 630px) 100vw, 630px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1040\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">I love daisies! These are oxeye daisies, which aren&#39;t native to the United States. The thistle, the national symbol of Scotland, is known for their appealing nectar and pretty purple flowers enveloped in thorns all through the stems and leaves. So I had to somehow grasp one of those prickly stems to steady this flower for a close-up shot. But upon closer inspection, this isn&#39;t the same as the Queen Anne&#39;s lace from the northeast.
