They waited till our anniversary itself to decorate the room.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Thursday was our last full day at the resort. It was the day of our 30th Anniversary itself and the hotel staff did some really sweet things.<\/p>\n

We stayed on site, revisiting our favorite things. I had the chance to try the resort’s famous Bloody Mary at the swim up bar, we enjoyed some more Hinano beer, and then we rode our bikes to the Lagoonarium where we snorkeled with the resident fish once again. We met “Moana”, a 17 year old, 4 foot long Napoleon Wrasse fish who will literally boop your nose (underwater photos to follow).<\/p>\n

We had a steak dinner at the resort’s Italian restaurant and enjoyed our last sunset on Bora Bora — the prettiest one all week (we are flying out right before sunset on Friday evening).<\/p>\n

Dave and I also enjoyed meeting other guests, especially all the sweet honeymooning couples from all over the world.<\/p>\n

This is Regis the cat, whose company we enjoyed most mornings. He would help keep our breakfast area free of birds.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We are the 4th bungalow from the one closest to you on the left. You can see our floats — they look white here — on the back deck. It was a great location…we could easily walk to most of the places we needed to go. Only the spa and the adults-only pool were a bike ride away.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Bloody Mary was invented at the St. Regis Hotel in NYC in the 1930s. Except they called it a “Red Snapper” because the term “Bloody Mary” was offensive. All St. Regis hotels have their classic Bloody Mary on their drink menus, and it’s the original recipe: very classic. Each St. Regis also has its own variation of the Bloody Mary — which at our resort was called a “Bora Mary” and it has watermelon juice as a base instead of tomato juice.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Hinano is the “local” beer, from Tahiti. It was a good beer for the warm days.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
Each bungalow had bikes parked out front: one per guest in the bungalow. There was a placard on the handlebars to identify which bungalow it belonged to. We rode over to the spa area several times during the week.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The St. Regis spa not only had the spa essentials: massages, facials, hair salon, but is also the spot for world class snorkeling in the resort’s very own lagoon.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
BOOP! I pulled this moment off a GoPro video. This is Moana, a Napoleon Wrasse fish, who lives in the St. Regis resort’s Lagoonarium — an area that’s fenced off to allow smaller fish to flourish without predators. Moana is so sweet, especially if you have fish food for him, which Dave did.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

There were beach chairs around, and you could just sit and enjoy this view.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We returned from snorkeling to this little anniversary cake and card from the staff.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

It was a mango coconut cake.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
