It was a bit tricky to do with public transportation but we did it! It took a bus, two trains, and a gondola\/cable car to get to the top.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The Zugspitze is the highest point in Germany, at about 9700&#8242; elevation. It&#8217;s remarkable how low the tree line is here compared to Pikes Peak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/zugspitze.panomax.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">It has the most amazing 360\u00b0 Panoramic webcam, too<\/a>! Check it out!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Added bonus, the visitor center straddles the Austrian border! We enjoyed lunch in the panoramic restaurant on the Austrian side right as the clouds &#8212; with lightning! &#8212; started moving in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Tomorrow: Neuschwanstein Castle!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a the glacier.
