On a trip to Lowe’s today for some parts for our new kitchen sink, we took a look at exterior lights. The ones that were on the house when we bought it that were very tired-looking.<\/p>\n

One of the tired-looking brass light fixtures. Dave tried to clean and polish them, but they were\u00a0too far gone. Time to go SHOPPING!<\/p><\/div>\n

Here’s the replacement fixture. It took Dave about 10 minutes to replace it, and it cost about $30 at Lowe’s.<\/p><\/div>\n

Do you love it as much as I do? Dave\u00a0replaced three lights in the front of our house with those lights<\/a>, and we plan to also replace the two back lights this week. The replacement work seemed very easy, with universally-color-coded wires that are very easy to change out.<\/p>\n

And as a double bonus word score, we found little solar-powered lights for our front garden that match!<\/p>\n

In addition to the lighting, Dave took down the house numerals, hit them with automotive engine primer, and then spray-painted them in a matching color.<\/p>\n

This small home improvement cost us about $140.<\/p>\n
