{"id":2026,"date":"2013-04-22T22:32:13","date_gmt":"2013-04-23T03:32:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thevollmerfamily.com\/MajorMom\/?p=2026"},"modified":"2013-04-22T22:34:16","modified_gmt":"2013-04-23T03:34:16","slug":"this-is-a-weather-station-comparison-test","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/thevollmerfamily.com\/MajorMom\/2013\/04\/this-is-a-weather-station-comparison-test.html","title":{"rendered":"A Weather Station Comparison Test"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The purpose of this blog post is to have a place to quickly compare the two weather stations I have in my backyard.<\/p>\n<p>The top &#8220;sticker&#8221; is for our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.davisnet.com\/weather\/products\/vantage-pro-professional-weather-stations.asp\">Davis Instruments Vantage Pro 2<\/a>, circa 2004. This weather station has performed reliably for our family at each of our last four homes.<\/p>\n<p>The bottom &#8220;sticker&#8221; is reporting from our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.acurite.com\/weather\/weather-stations\/acurite-professional-weather-center-with-forecast-temperature-humidity-wind-speed-direction-rainfall-with-remote-monitoring-01050c.html\">AcuRite Pro Weather Center<\/a>. It just arrived about a week ago as part of a GeekMom product test.<\/p>\n<p>This is part of my comparison project &#8212; I have Weather Underground archiving both weather stations&#8217; data. I can only choose one weather station with which I can associate the webcam, so it&#8217;s on the incumbent weather station.<\/p>\n<p>So&#8230;what you SHOULD be seeing are similar temperatures, dewpoints and barometric pressures.
